Our mission

Concord Carlisle Adult & Community Education (CCACE) is a self-sustaining branch of Concord-Carlisle Public Schools, dedicated to lifelong learning for all ages. CCACE connects local citizens through collaborative community outreach, classes and educational events. Our aim is to provide unique programming that will inspire joy and nurture passions.

Who we are at CCACE

We are a team of 4, led by Jill Weintraub, our full-time Director of Adult & Community Education. We have a part-time 20-hour per week program coordinator for each of our program areas: Stefanie Cloutier is our Adult & Youth Programs Coordinator; Rebecca Gurley is our Driver Education Coordinator; and Debbie Levine is our IMSCC Coordinator.

Our Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee consists of 9 members, including 6-7 members from the Town of Concord, and 2-3 members from the Town of Carlisle. A School Committee liaison and the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning are also committee members.

Our Meetings

We meet monthly from September through June on Fridays at 12 pm. Committee members should not miss 3 consecutive meetings without giving notice, or miss 4 regular meetings in a year. Member terms are 3 years, usually beginning in June upon a member’s appointment to office by the Concord-Carlisle Regional District School Committee. The term will end when a successor is appointed. Members are limited to 2 three-year terms; the Committee may nominate a member for a third term when appropriate.

The Director updates the Committee at each meeting on budget numbers and registration for our programs, as well as upcoming planning for all programs. The Committee is instrumental in organizing a “Can We Talk” program or series each year. They help share ideas and resources for new programming or new instructors. The Committee or a Liaison organizes the Armchair Travel Series each year. Volunteers from our Committee help assemble a window display for The Concord Bookshop twice per year, as well as volunteer to help with holiday gift wrapping one-two days at The Concord Bookshop.
We encourage our Advisory Committee members to participate in programming through the year.
